Motivation....

Where is the motivation when I need it? I have told myself that I am going to get some this year. With some help, (thanks to Kel and Steph) I have been motivated to start getting some exercise and start walk/running. (or more like walk/walk/job/walk!) I have been reassured that it will get better and I will become to enjoy my time on the dreaded treadmill or maybe not. I do enjoy walking outside but of course that is out of the question right now....brrrrrr. One of my bestest friends, Kelly Ann, has invited me to join her and a group of friends for the Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon/half Marathon in June which benefitsthe American Cancer Society. This is going to take a whole bunch of motivation. I have decided to start slow and just get up and moving. I have found a 5k run on Valentine's weekend that I thought would be a good start and have talked Steph into running it with me. So treadmill here I come! ;)

Christmas Memories....Bring on the New Year 2011

Christmas memories of the past flood my mind this year. Christmas pasts spent at my Grandpa and Grandma's above the bakery, Christmas morning with the hustle and bustle of the excitement of presents and a quick clean up to go to yummy breakfast at Grandpa Harry and Leota's. With special memories, when we were a little older, to have family Christmas time with the Snead family. And of course, remembering my Dad and his presents every Christmas just sitting back watching and enjoying the day with that special smile on his face. Often we would ask him what he was thinking and he would always say "nothing just watching" with that smile.
As time goes by, we have made new family memories that will be cherished for years to come. Watching my kids enjoy their children on Christmas morning is so special and I thank God everyday that they all let me share it with them. I think I know what my Dad was smiling about all those Christmases watching his grand kids. I caught myself with that same smile. What a blessing.
